Our CTO hosted an internal workshop on advanced frontend techniques with a focus on React. The goal was to help our frontend team improve their skills and stay up to date with best practices.
Here are 10 takeaways from the workshop:
- Communication first, then code! We can’t wait for everything to be pixel-perfect, AI might replace that kind of work. Instead: propose, test, improve, and speak up when something feels off.
- Read design through UX, not just UI.
- Don ’t code on autopilot. Communicate actively with designers and team leads.
- Understand why you’re building something.
- Good frontend is a result of thinking, not just implementation. Saying “I only know React” isn’t enough.
- We’re in the software industry, not just the React industry.
- We’re expected to understand HTTP, APIs, DOM, databases, architecture, regardless of stack.
- If React is primary tool, go deeper. Focus on performance, patterns, hooks, and architecture.
- Tools change, principles remain.
- Know the difference between “knowing how to use a tool” and “understanding how it works.”
Curious how we apply this in real-world projects? Let’s connect.
